Points to Warm on Abdomen

Abdominal Moxa

 

The two main abdominal points prescribed for daily alternating treatment, increase inner vitality and strength, improve low immune function, and warm digestive fire. Although you can safely use moxa over your entire abdomen and midline, these two points are especially important for regular treatment.

Ren 6 (CV6)

Find this point on the midline of the lower abdomen by bringing your middle and index finger together and placing them directly below your belly button. Known as the ‘Sea of Qi',’ this point is used to activate and harness your body’s inherent reservoir of energy. Warming this point can help move stagnation in the lower abdomen, resolving symptoms of constipation or menstrual pain.

REN 12 (CV12)

Find this point on the midline of the abdomen by first locating the bottom of your sternum where your ribs meet. Ren12 is located exactly between this point and your belly button. If you experience digestive issues, this point may reveal tension, tightness or discomfort when massaged. Burning your mini moxa sticks over this point helps harmonize digestion and regulate the proper flow of energy throughout your entire abdomen.
